About The Foundation for Camp Max Straus: The Foundation for Camp Max Straus, a public non-profit charitable organization, was founded in 1962 to serve the needs of “underserved” children without regard to race, religion, national origin or ability to pay and helps provide the joyful, carefree memories these children deserve. Camp Max Straus is a residential summer camp that also provides year-round recreational activities for approximately 1,500 underprivileged children of all races and religions. Campers range from 7-12 years old, and primarily come from single or substitute parent homes that are classified as below the poverty line.
